Buttons & Scripting
And now my answers:
a) the tutorials haven't contributed; I am not able to watch them without going to the lab so it's a computer upgrade for me next term...
b) the process I used to complete this project was building, testing, rebuilding, retesting... it took me a few tries to understand that I could layer button parts while designing the button states. I think I confused myself too with making pieces into symbols before building the button...which turned out to be unnecessary.
Script to paste for the action was a huge help, provided you remember to name your instances!
I would like to make the ball being thrown interactive, an action triggered by clicking on the thought balloon by the dog's head. Can anyone tell me how? The balloon is a bubble with all four states created, but I don't know how to link them with a action scripting, or how to hold the ball throw in reserve until it is triggered by clicking on the thought balloon button.
Thanks for your help and your patience all.

Final- Amy Petit
(1,a) I used the “robot lounge singers” theme again to bring “Jimmy an the She-bots” to life. There is a pdf of the storyboard in my final folder showing where the different scenes will happen.
(2,a) I mainly used the rectangle and oval drawing tools as both shape and objects. I also used the primitive versions for some of the shapes. The spray can made the background pattern and the polygon tool made the stars. I also used the line tool and Bezier points for some of the pieces.(b) No imagery was imported. (c) I used the following Kuler scheme: #8C2920 (red), #F29422 (yellow), #20818C (blue), #D0C6B2 (tan), #E68E21(yellow) and #C7380B (orange).
(3,b) For the stars twinkling I used a series of shape tweens. (a) The she-bots moving into place were done with three individual classic tweens and the moved to the background with a (c) motion tween. Jimmy moving into the frame in the different spots were done with (c) motion tweens. I used the motion editor to apply custom easing to these scenes to vary the speed at which he moved and adjusted the scale.
(4,a,b)There are two armatures using Inverse Kinematices. The first is applied as a shape IK in Jimmy’s arms (it plays in the symbol “Jimmy” timeline). The second is as a symbol IK to the “claw” that takes him out of the scene.
(5,a,b,c) All of the symbols in the library are new and a combination of movie clips and graphics. (d)The she-bots individually are graphics and there is one of theme all together that is a nested movie clip of them rocking. That one is called “sb_group”.
(6,a) There is audio in the main timeline for the she-bots and there is a short clip within the symbol “jimmy_sing”.
(7, a, iii) There are two buttons – a start and stop button. (a, i) They each have up, over, down and hit states and are build from four layers – a base, highlight, gradient and text layer. (ii) I duplicated the start button to make the stop button. (1.b) I changed it by having the highlight and gradient change and made the start shades of green and the stop shades of red. (iv,v) They are not from the common library and were not used on project 5.
(8,a,i) I added ActionScript to make the buttons start and stop and included a stop in frame 1. (b,i) I used text to create a link to a URL of another famous robot.
(9) I really enjoyed this project and this class. I had fun bringing Jimmy and the She-bots to life and felt that the tweens worked really well in this project. Getting the sound to sync up was a bit challenging but it worked out in the end.Friday, December 3, 2010

Final project David peterson
a. Please identify the major tools used in your blog posting: paint brush, line tool, oval tool, and square shape tool, bone tool, text tool, polystar tool, and eyedropper tool, ink bottle tool, free transform tool.
i. Please add your hexadecimal numbers to your blog posting: 7FB2F0, 4E7AC7,35478C,161193B
d. In your blog posting, state which features from the motion editor was added to the above tweens:
The sun was added an alpha effect and a slowing in ease effect upon start of the clip
c. Please identify which symbols are new in your blog posting the buttons are all new: the different rabbit positions are all new and the turtle is new there are multiple symbols inside these in use for the overall effect.
What worked well? What areas were challenging? The best part that worked well was the transference of the sun and moon from my project with the alien it helped create an easy story board effect. The action scripting as usual was very hard and complex im still having some trouble with it but I’m learning more than I did inside project five.
thoughts and comments.
This piece was one of the funnier and rather interesting pieces ive done I really like how it came together and how it looks the only thing I wish I could do to improve upon it was to have more time to work on it because I felt that I needed more animals inside it but I figured I would keep it simple
describe your process in creating your project on the blog.
I first began by creating the background in different segments along with the sky the rafters then I drew them into different sections using the line tool.
After I did this I copied and pasted the sun and the moon motion tween from my third project and then redesigned it to work for this animation showing the passing of the day to night I did this by changing the sky to different colors from light to dark using Kuler.
I then created the buttons by using the same format that we used in class but instead created this square style buttons to differ from project five I put a movie clip over one of the buttons the start button and added sound to all the buttons then I distributed many different layers and colors to each button to make them different.
I then created a turtle and the hare using the oval tool, square tool, paintbrush tool, and line tool I then added color to both using the paint bucket and each bottle tools. I then added motion, classic, and shape tweens to various objects such as the hare turtle star the sun and the moon and the text that comes towards the screen.
I used a premade animation for the text coming towards the screen. I then added scripting causing the animation to stop using the stop script stop() ; then after this I added the scripting to link to Google using project fives previous scripting and changed the button that is to be pressed to btn_3 and this worked!
After this I copied and pasted the IK animation from project five the Bell and then copied and pasted the original picture and laid underneath the Bell on a separate layer so that way the Bell would not disappear after the animation played. The second IK I created was the banner by adding bone tools to it I made it wiggle back and forth to give the appearance of wind blowing.

T.K. project 5
With this project I struggled for a while.I get really frustrated with flash for some reason. I had to email Ms.D about it and once she responded i got done in 10 mins what had me stuck for over 2 hours the previous night. Anyways as far as this button project. I used 1 button i made in Photoshop and 1 button i made in flash. I think anyone can look and see where I made which button..lol. I put a nested color change in my round button and a tint change on my rectangular button. I have sound which works when it wants to on the rectangular button also. I can get it to do the click sound everytime like its supposed to but I remember in class other people were having problems so maybe its a glitch or something.Im just glad to be done. I watched all the videos numerous times and they helped for the basic design but i couldnt figure my embedding out for my life but im glad it worked out in the end...besides that Happy Turkey Day to everyone!!

project 5 Kirandip kaur
Project 5 is about buttons for that I created two buttons , one is movie clip button for GO and Exit basic button and added text and different colors to up down ,over and hit states , added sound in the over state . The basic button is made on the basis of class but mc is build on book basis so it is bit different than class it is in four layers and had stop action on 2nd frame , has sound for both button on over state , text too , Let me tell you I dint like the book method unfortunately class one ...I forgot some steps so ...
Project 5 David peterson
Part 1
2)A)iv)I put the alpha movie clip for the blue button when you hover the cursor over it
Part 3
1)A)I unfortunately could not utilize any of the videos that I watched I did watch all of them however none of them seem to be as effective as they stated. I tried to use at least 16 combination's of code that none seem to work until I finally found two different ones that did.
b)I first began by creating the two different buttons by starting with one button's creation than duplicating and modifying the secondary button save time and made changes to the layers to each one and made into different buttons after I'd done this I in long-gated my movie clip by three frames including the sounds and everything else in the time line then I attempted to find several different styles of code to use inside the action script until it finally found two that worked and place them inside of the time line upon the first line I began with the stop command then I did the link command to Google than I did the last command which was the was the start button command list giving the ability to click the button to start the animation.
Thoughts and comments
this to be the hardest piece I've ever done a truly believe it when I first began this is totally screwed. I felt unprepared for it due mainly because of the holidays and work I had to finish this entire project in a day but luckily I managed to pull through thanks to Google and a lot of other good resources I found on the Internet.
